1. Ultimo' was named for a clerical error in a legal case against Dr John Harris , that had prevented him being court-martialled. His offence was listed as 'ultimo' (having occurred in the previous month) when it should have been cited as 'instant' (having occurred in the same month).
2. Ultimo is home of the University of Technology, Sydney and the Sydney Institute of TAFE, the largest TAFE in New South Wales.
3. Dr Chau Chak Wing Building is a Business School building of the UTS. It was designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. The tower is named after Dr Chau Chak Wing, an Australian-Chinese businessman and philanthropist who donated $20 million for the building's construction. Building design is based on the idea of a tree-house structure. Construction of the building started in late 2012. The official opening took place on 2 February 2015.
